About the Author
Jason George Waters was born in 1974 to hardworking farmers in rural Illinois. Growing up feeling like an outsider, he found comfort in books and developed a love of storytelling. A high school English teacher once compared his writing to Stephen King’s, a moment that planted the seed for a lifelong passion.
After high school, Jason worked in a bicycle factory before earning a degree in political science from Illinois State University in 2006. He began his career at State Farm Bank and, in 2008, moved to Los Angeles with nothing but determination and a dream. He continued in the insurance industry before joining Kaiser Permanente in 2015, where he now works as a National Account Manager.
Outside of work, Jason has always been drawn to storytelling, from writing songs and poems with his niece to creating rich fictional worlds. Inspired by a lifelong curiosity about people and culture, he began writing the Sheldon Majors series in 2015, bringing heart, humor, and humanity to the page.
He published his debut novel, Sheldon Majors and the Chase, in 2024, followed by Sheldon Majors and This Queer Love in 2025. He’s currently editing book three and writing book four. Jason lives in Southern California and travels whenever he can, always seeking stories to tell and moments to capture.
